What is ChE Assist?

ChE Assist an assistance service where you can submit your more complex questions related to chemical engineering that may require the advice of an expert in the field or someone who has faced a similar situation in the past.  With ChE Assist, you can specify whether or not you require the assistance of a professional engineer doing consulting, or you just need some help from someone who has experience with your problem.

Why Should I Use ChE Assist?

Along with your inquiry, we'll ask you to submit the maximum amount that you can pay for the required service.  We'll submit the inquiry to people qualified to answer the question or help with your problem and they'll make a bid to field the inquiry.  You'll get qualified assistance for the lowest possible price and with the least amount of effort.

What Types of Problems Can ChE Assist Help Me With?

Often times, people in the chemical process industry are confronted with problems that are outside of their area of expertise or "comfort zone".  These may be problems encountered during a detailed calculation, financial analysis, or field study.  Maybe you need a "push in the right direction" on a problem that you've been working on.   The following are examples of questions where using ChE Assist would be appropriate:

  • "I've specified a shell and tube condenser, but the thermodynamics are a little unusual and I'd like to have someone review the specification before I submit it to vendors for quotation."

  • "I have an old pump in storage and I'd like some help in determining if it is capable of performing a new service.  It's been a long time since I performed such a analysis and I'd really like some assistance"

  • "What are some good methods of improving filtration in an amine plant?"

  • "What is a good method of analyzing powders for composition?"

Remember, you can specify whether or not you require the assistance of Professional Engineer.  Perhaps the solution that you seek is more complicated, such as:

  • "I need assistance is evaluating several large requests for proposals for a large evaporation system."
  • "I need help with a technology transfer and I'd prefer someone who has completed at least 5 of them in the past"
  • "We're having a serious corrosion problem that has us stumped, we'd like to have someone conduct a laboratory analysis of the problem and recommend solutions."

How is Communication Handled Between the Parties?

Once you've submitted your question or problem and your corresponding bid, we'll begin the search process to find the perfect candidate willing to perform the work for you at the price that you've specified.  If no one is willing to accept your price, we'll tell you how much a qualified candidate would require.   Once we've found a match and you agree to a price, we'll need an electronic deposit with a credit card or a purchase order number.  Then, we'll put you in contact with the solution provider and assist in communications whenever necessary.  We're here to help you find the right person to assist you!  When a bid is accepted by a solution provider, we'll tell you all about them, so that you're comfortable with your choice.

How Much Does This Service Cost?

There is no charge to you to use our service.   All fees are paid by the solution provider to The Chemical Engineers' Resource Page.  There is however, a minimum bid amount of $150 for non-professionl engineering assistance and $300 for professional engineering assistance.

Let us show you an EXAMPLE of how the process works
