Insulation Calculation Programs

    The following programs were
introduced in the Feature article Making Decisions with Insulation.  The first program is called the "Economic Thickness Calculator".  This program can be used to find the most economic insulation thickness for indoor or outdoor pipes based on energy costs.   This small program runs in DOS mode and can be downloaded here.

    Another program to aid you in insulation calculation is an Excel 97 spreadsheet called "Insulated Pipe Temperature Prediction Spreadsheet".  This spreadsheet can be used to calculate the temperature inside an insulated pipe based on the linear heat loss.  You can see a screenshot of this spreadsheet below and it can be downloaded here
