This spreadsheet accompanies the blog entry by the same title.

Calculate the blow down down (or depressurization time) for a long distance natural gas pipeline.

Based on the calculation procedure:

"Simple Method Predicts Gas Line Blowdown Times", by

M.H. Weiss, K.K. Botros, W.M. Jungowski, Oil & Gas Journal, Dec. 12, 1988

What's New in Version 1.1 (See full changelog)

  • Added "Mass Flow Rate" for sonic and sub-sonic flow for gas blowdown from a hole or orifice

Thanks. I can use spreadsheet like this, however in imperial units. So I spent some time converting your spreadsheet to imperial units. How do I email it to you?

Click on your display name in the upper right and select "Support / Download Purchases".  Then, select "Support" on the left menu.  Enter a new support request and attached your Imperial units version for me and I'll upload it here for others to use.

thanks

I can not find the orgianl paper. So the most important factor I consider Cf is developed from the correlation? This correlation covers the dynamic flow of gas inside the pipeline itself? Thank you very much for your answer.
