Download Risk Assessment of NOx Gums and Salts in the COLD Box of Olefin Plants

- - - - -

Screenshots
Various types of impurities are an integral part of the feed in olefins plants. It may be in fraction or in measurable quantities. There are nitrogenous based impurities, which can react with hydrocarbons during the olefin manufacturing process creating an explosive hydrocarbon mixture. NOx in the olefin feed can react with hydrocarbons to form various types of gums and salts. A build up of these impurities in the cold box of the olefin plant can result due to favorable temperatures and pressure.
