Hello everyone!,
I've searched in the forum for previous posts talking about this subject, I've found very useful information (a couple of spreadsheets and articles, as well as very useful rules of thumb) but I still have a little doubt.
I'm trying to estimate the capacity of a Nitrogen supply system for a Used lubricant oil recovery plant; I have solid figures of continuous nitrogen consumption and intermittent requirements, but I still have problems estimating the peak requirements (which are essentially for inertization purposes).
I've found a very interesting spreadsheet which helped me to estimate the required nitrogen volume for this operation. However, I'm having some problems trying to "traduce" this volume to a volumetric flowrate (since I'm trying to decide if its better to have a larger nitrogen producing unit or a LIN storage tank).
So, is there any rule of thumb about the duration of inertization processes?, or maybe a way to estimate the required nitrogen package capacity (by means of nitrogen flowrate) based on calculated volume required.
Thanks in advance.

Hello everyone.
The reading material given by Breizh is very informative and totally usefull. It Gave me an idea of how much nitrogen will I require for inertization (helpful to confirm my initial estimates) and gives a very clear guidelines of how inertization can be performed and how to estimate the flowrates.
Thanks a lot.

Based on the resource article referred by breizh I have put the equations on Excel sheet and tried Nitrogen requirement for various purging options for comparison. Forum members can review and suggest any improvment.

I have a Class I storahe tank of capacity of 100m3. Ihave given nitrogen blanketing on it. Do i need to dive foam protection to tank also?
