Dear All

Good  day!

Before making any recommendation on valve, it is more appropriate to request " Field Engineer" to kindly attach the sketch or preferably a PFD. What I have understood the purpose of the valve is to  avoid cavitation of the export pump?

If my understanding is correct , then the best way is to trip the pump through level control rather than pressure control . Please do give consideration or at least a thought. Although pressure trip switches (0.035 bars) are available but the reliability at such pressure range is difficult to achieve

Regarding selection of control valve , please first consult the following books

  1. Fisher Handbook of  Control  Valves
  2. Dresser Handbook of Control Valves

Additionally, downloadable software are available from the sites of the two competitors and give better  understanding of sizing control valves.

Globe valve above 12" is not available generally and you have to go for butterfly or Camplex valves (eccentric ball valves)

At the end , I would request all member to please do try to converge the discussions so that the solution to the problem could be focused

Best regards and God Bless you
