Hello,

 

I am working on design of ethylene glycol chiller. What is typical operating temperature of ethylene glycol chiller ? ( I am using 50/50 ethylene glycol wtih water)

I have seen normally inlet to the chiller at about 11 deg C and outlet at about 5 deg C. Composition 45 wt% Ethylene Glycol and 55 wt% water. Hope this helps...

you should mention what you have in the process side.

purvamehta,

maybe you're referring to the process side (cooling). The "brine" (ie water plus glycol) is on the utility side (heating)

Your 5°C at outlet are probably dictated by presence of water in your process side: you don't wat it freezes. Brines could cover services well below 0°C.
