What vacuum column? You need to explain in a more concise manner and with details. Your one line question is too vague.

t90,

All good chemical engineers have learned to read between the lines. This is how they become "boss". At least this is what one of my ex-bosses told me (she could accomplish this). The answer is obvious, and there is only one: the gas moving/condensing equipment lacks capacity to move the fluid from the column to its destination. So you look here to resolve the issue.

OP did not specify the equipment generating the vacuum nor the components in the column. Even normal operating temperatures and pressures are neglected. I feel there can be more than that reason why the amount of vacuum is decreasing. There are times when making assumptions are useful. But troubleshooting equipment problems is not one of the best times to make sweeping assumptions. A clear picture of the problem is what solves problems.
