Hello all,

i want to optimize our plant regenerator reboiler duty in hysys as it is design for 30MMSCFD gas processing and now we are just processing 10MMSCFD gas for sweetening... can anyone tell me how to proceed????

If there is room for improvements and potential energy saving you should have some... indications, see in the attached document related to my case (DGA-based Amine Plant). Do mot afraid to make changes and go on site to face the real problem. Understanding of chemical analysis is of greatest importance. Also you should study some books (in my case "Gas Purification" by Kohl and the book "Advanced Gas Treating" by Ralph H. Weiland & Nathan A. Hatcher (founders of ProTreat) helped me a lot.  Simulation will help you understand the impact of some elements but maybe not all.

@sherkhan

now from this post and combining your previous posts, I understand that you have an existing operating plant with MDEA for sweetening 30 mmscfd while the actual operation is for 10 mmscfd;  and you want to reduce the operator reboiler duty to match the requirement by reducing the circulation

whenever a post is made in Chersources forums, do ensure the following

1) donot be skimpy with back ground information (you may need to mask the actual client, company name etc, but give as much background information as much possible)

2) be clear and forthcoming with your requirement; use simple sentences and convey the actual requirement ( from your previous post, I understood it as a simulation issue; from this post I understand you are trying to use hysys as an optimization tool to improve the economics by reducing the actual reboiler duty in an existing plant)

3) be precise and give the necessary input data ( equipment details, gas flow, op P/T); the accuracy of a solution will depend on the information; the forum members wont be on a fishing trip to help out with a questionnaire for the data; you have to understand and realize and give the necessary data

and

4) give what is the bottleneck, what you attempted and where you are struck and where you need assistance and input from others

hi

Kindly attached the LPG or BIogas Plant ,the Basic details and Calculation

And give the detail how to calculate Diesel Generator composition ratio.

Unfortunately, Hysys will not help you with this problem. I prefer using ProMax for solving this sort of problem. You need to be very careful in how you operate the regenerator. It is very easy to corrode and destroy the internals. I want to stress my caution: Do not make any gas sweetening decisions based on a Hysys model.
