In Hysis

I am sizing control valve failure for a fuel gas line

What is the formula used in hysis for required relieving load for a control valve failure case for gas.

I used Qmax  which is given in the attached spreadsheet  for my relief load calculation through control valve.

I have got a max load =  4435 lb/hr.

the calculated load is 4426 lb/hr in hysis

But the required relieving load says = 2795 lb/hr based on which the orifice area has been sized.

Kindly explain the formula involved in Hysis for Required relieving load

When you are designing overpressure protection devices, you should definitely know what you are doing. If you don't, you should consult your supervisor.
