Hi,

I have been tasked with collating a spreadsheet regarding dispersion from an orifice and there is a large table of substances which the ratio of specific heats will be required. Does anyone know where I can find a comprehensive list of the ratio of the specific heats, or failing that a comprehensive list of the specific heat capcity at constant volume and pressure

rywo:

You have failed to tell us the identities of the fluids you are dealing with. Help yourself by helping those trying to help you. If you are not SPECIFIC, how can you expect us to be?

You can obtain free, recognized, and reliable thermodynamic data (including Cp and Cv values) at the following website:

http://webbook.nist.gov/chemistry/

If you use the SEARCH feature on our Forums, you can read about this website through the years that we have been recommending it.

Good luck; and BE SPECIFIC in your queries.

rwyo:

This article in the online Citizendium encyclopedia includes the specific heat ratios, at various temperatures, for about a dozen of the more common gases:

Specific Heat Ratio

It also includes quite a bit of additional, useful information about specific heat ratios.
