La API 650 para juntas verticales en cilindro de tanque indica que los cordones de soldadura no deben alinearse y considerar una tolerancia minima de 5t entre juntas verticales. Para tanques en funcionamiento con dicha disposicion de planchas, es necesario retirar el cordon y planchas e instalar una plancha de ancho minimo 12 in para cumplir la restriccion de la API 650.
