Hi everybody.

Could anyone suggest what can be estimated weight of bubble cap tray (ID 1000 mm, 25 4" caps). I need maybe not precise but quick estimation without getting deep into mechanical calculations.

Whatever numerical answers you get here, you should distrust completely. The mass of the tray will depend on the material thickness of the tray, the stiffeners, the caps themselves, and the risers. What is the material of construction? Are the caps bolted or welded? What are the heights of the caps and risers? Diameter of the risers? If you have all this information, it is a 5 minute calculation to get the total mass to within 20%. Don't be lazy - just do the calculation.

Hi, Wojtar,

Do you mean there are 25 4" caps per layer. I think it should be 65kg for one layer. The tray is estimated to be 3mm.

Thanks. I considered trays to be 4 mm thick since we assume 2 mm corrosion allowance.
