Nitrogen Blanketing or Air Dryer System?
Dear my friends,
Please regard to the following problem:
The problem is storing Ethanol or Ethanol&Gasoline mixture in double roof storage tanks.
Based on API-650 Appendix H, we can apply Nitrogen Blanketing AND P&V valves as venting system.(H.5.2.2.3)
And considering API-1626, we shall use Air Dryer in order to prevent entering humidity into the Ethanol storage tanks.
I think there is an incompatibility between API-650 and API-1626, and using Air-Dryer and N2 Blanketing system simultaneously
is not applicable. I guess when N2 Blanketing is applied in an Ethanol storage tank, Air-Dryer will not be required.
I will so glad if I know your points of view about the subject.
What is the standard plan for storing Ethanol in D.R. Storage Tanks in humid environments?
Thank you in advance
Regards,
