I have an API 650 Internal Floating roof tank storing Methanol. The tank has no insulation. The maximum rundown temperature of Methanol is 45°C. Tank dimension is 25 m dia and 15 m height , the tank is Nitrogen blanketed.
Max ambient temperature is 44°C , max solar radiation is 947 W/m2 , sun metal temperature is 75°C.
Boiling point (Normal) of methanol is 65°C.
I want to calculate max temperature attained by Methanol in a day due to Solar radiation effect considering run down does not come for a day.
This I need to know to estimate whether I need a cooler or not. Also I find out the max vaporization rate due to solar heating. The tank vent goes to Flare.

If you know the total absorbed heat (kJ), it should be equivalent to Methanol temperature rise + Heat required to evaporate calculated vapor flow. Following the basic thermodynamic rule, temperature of Methanol cannot increase above its boiling point till all the Methanol inside the tank has evaporated.

Ayan,
The attached file should help you in determining the evaporation due to solar radiation from a tank.
