Hi all,

I have to design an absorption column that will be a packed column counter current flow. Ketene gas (coming in towards the bottom of the column) will react with liquid acetic acid (coming in at the top of the column). The product is acetic acid anhydride so this is a reactive absorption column. Considering my little experience with aspen plus I was not able to simulate the column. Instead I chose to do hand calcs on the column. The compositions of the incoming streams are essentially pure substances. The ultimate goal is to size and cost the column. Can anybody provide some insight of where I should go from here? Or any references that I can research?
