Hi,
For a LNG cargo tank, I have to design an eductor to pump saturated LNG (1 bara, -160°C) and use LNG as a motive liquid (17 bara, -159°C). After isenthalpique expansion, Low pressure upstream the nozzle induce flashing of the motive liquid . Is there any design solution to avoid this? Do think that we can used eductor to pump saturated fluid ??

Thanks for your help

rajee7,

You should be talking to a specialist vendor for providing a solution for your problem. You are dealing with LNG at cryogenic temperatures with generation of flash vapor due to expansion. Eductors / Ejectors are still a specialized piece of equipment in the chemical process industry and I would recommend that you approach a vendor with your basic data and take his advise.

There was an earlier post for designing of ejector where I mentioned a few specialist vendors in this field. The links is provided below:

Hope this helps.
