Dear All,
In the technical specifications for Duel Fuel Fired heater (HFO and NG) received from many Thermic Fluid manufacturers , reference of either BS1113 or IBR(indian Boiler Regulations) is given for the calculation of the thickness of Heater Coil. None of them give satisfactory explaination when asked about this except saying that it is normally followed by them. In enquiry technial specifications it is demanded that the tube thickness calculations shall be based on API 530 and heater design shall be based on API 560.(DIN 4754 is also acceptable)
My query regarding this is as follows
1) BS 1113 as well as IBR are for Design and Manufacture of Water-Tube Steam generating Plants. Can they be applied for Thermic Fluid Generators? I went throgh both the specifications and found no mention of thermic fluid heaters in both the specifications.
2) The European Bidders have given reference of DIN 4754 and PED 97/23/EG. Do these specs are applicable for thermic fluid heaters (especially PED 97/23/EG)?
3) What are the specifications other than API 530 & PED97/23/EG, which are applicable for calculation of thickness of thermic fluid heater coils?

Thanks and Best Regards,
VISHAL
