Hi Dears;

I'm trying to simulate a gas turbine power plant using Hysys software.
I don't Know how to choose the Efficency of Compressor and turbine to find a real approximation of total produced power.
It would be appreciated if anybody could help.

This input ussually came from the Gas Turbine vendor
but for preliminary purpose just use hysys standard value of 75% adiabatic efficiency

Thanks for your kind attention
you are true, but my purpose from this values is estimating power plant output.
As you know in a Gas Turbine Power plant main part of energy consumed in air compressor.
I want to have a reasonable values for compressor and Turbine efficiencies in my simulation, so I can predict and relie on simulated total output power.

75 to 80 is a reasonable value for GTG, vendor would probably give value around
76 to 78% of polytropic efficiency

Hi,
Gas Turbine has an axial compressors with high efficiencies and hysys can model the centrifugal/reciprocating compressors. So be careful while modeling the compressor as the outlet air temperature is will be unrealistic in case of lower values of efficiencies mentioned in the earlier posts.

I saw in a simulation you have done:
You select 99% Efficiency for Compressor and 90% Efficiency for Turbine.
May I know what's the background of these values?
I need these efficiency values to relie on the total simulated power in Hysys.
Produced power in turbine and consumed Power in compressor (and so total power) change greatly with change in efficiencies.
It would be appreciated if you could provide me any references for proper simulation of a Gas turbine with Hysys.

Hi,
The efficiencicies were modeled to match the results with the existing facility i.e. it is a retrofit simulation file. I tried to model it as a physical gas turbine with multistage axial compressor. The details like efficiencies will be available with the gas turbine vendors like GE, Siemens and others. The model I have submitted long back here in while replying to a similar topic is just an approach and honestly speaking I have very limited knowledge of the facility.
