Dear all,

We have 7-stage centrifugal LPG pump. I found some deviations in actual set points & OEM recommended set points. Major diff. is Lube oil used.
OEM recommended ISO VG 32 oil, its kinematic viscosity(@ 40 C) is 32.7 cst.
Actually oil being used is Servo prime 46, its Kin.viscosity is 42 to 50 cst
Oil equivalent to ISO VG 32 is servo prime 32.
See below table gives the comparison of OEM rec. & actual at site

Description OEM Recommendation Actual used at site

Lube Oil ISO VG 32 Servo prime 46
Lube oil temp. high alarm 77 Deg.C 65 Deg.
Lube oil temp. high trip 82 Deg.C No Trip
Bearing temp. high alarm 93 Deg.C 71 Deg.C
Bearing temp. high trip 99 Deg.C 82 Deg.C

1) What is the effect of using high viscos lube oil...? good or bad...?
2) How to select the set points? for ex. lube oil high temp alarm is at 77..why so...?
Any standard for these settings or thumb rule...?
