Hello

I'm having a problem here sizing a cooling tower for my process. I now how to calculate the height of the packing of the tower. The problem is, that I need an information that I don't have: flux of water and flux of air. I only have the mass flowrates. Is there any way of calculating the diameter of the cooling tower? Which are the typical values?

Hi ,
Why don't you ask vendor to support your query ? You need to provide the flow rate , the temperature in and expectation and the quality of the air ( dry and wet temp).

I've attached files to support.

hope this helps

I am facing a similar problem. My coolin water rate is about 50000m3/h,for about 740x10e6 kcal/h of cooling. Water temp in-out is 50-35°C. Wet bulb temp is 28°C. For this capacity, would a natural draft, hyperbolic tower be the best choice? How can i have a quick estimate of heigth and diameter?
A second question: this rates are for maximum capacity; which are typical tower turndowns? Maybe is worth thinking on 2-3 towers depending on the time vs capacity requirement curve
thanks

Butterfly ,
Let you contact vendors , this will be the easiest way to get an answer . Google should help you to find the right technology and possible suppliers.

note : Consider this supplier , they have resources on line , you need to register :
