Harry12,

Torispherical heads (also called ASME F&D heads) are used upto pressure ranges of 200 psig. Beyond this value it is preferable to use 2:1 ellipsoidal heads. Please clarify what do you mean by Deodorant bottles.

Also refer the link provided below where there is a vessel volume excel sheet (post #50) all with notes and guidance:

Ankur.

A. Since a flat surface cannot effectively withstand pressure, ends of cylindrical pressure vessels have to be curved. Geometric shape of these domed ends can be as follows.
- Hemispherical (half sphere).
- Ellipsoidal (half ellipse rotated on its big axis). Usually ratio =2 for major to minor axis of ellipse.
- Torrispherical (fixed curvature radius in most part of the head).
See more about heads in http://en.wikipedia....i/Head_(vessel).
In local data sheets we have specified only ellipsoidal heads so far.
B. Probably you mean odorant (not deodorant). See http://www.cpchem.co...PGOdorants.aspx.
