Dear Sir

I am going to install nitrogen blanketting system for my edible oil tanks of 1000MT x 4 tanks and also for 300MT x 3 tanks.

My question is that before i ask for a quotation what important factors should i look into for tank designs so that i can install the nitrogen blanketing system.

My tanks are made up of carbon steel with different shell plates thickness.

Looking forwrad for your valuable comments

Mansoor :

First and foremost, establish that you have the correct and current MAWP (Max. Allowable Working Pressure) and MAWV (Max. Allowable Working Vacuum) calculated values for your tanks. This is a requirement and something that unfortunately has been carried out in the past by a majority of storage tank owners.

In the past, I have uploaded in various threads through our Forums a complete Excel workbook where I give examples of how to calculate and design a nitrogen blanketing system for storage tanks. If you SEARCH for these workbooks, you can download one easily.
