Hi Everyone,

I'm in the process of scoping and developing a dynamic pipeline simulation to model a high pressure gas network. The network consists of a number of gas plants, a header and pipeline which ends up at an LNG plant some 400km away, a number of domestic sales points and some third party gas takeoff points.

We have a steady state Pipesim model but I want the new model to be dynamic. Ideally I'd like to use a pipeline simulation package like pipeline studio or SPS, but we have a Unisim lisence already. So my question is what are the drawbacks to using Unisim for pipeline modelling purposes and can they be overcome?

Regards,

Bapo

Hi bapo,

I don't know if Unisim has it
but in Aspen HYSYS you can utilize Aspen Hydraulics for both Steady State and Dynamics analysis

I don't know how accurate the results will be since I haven't compare this in a project and only use it for my personal training purpose

but based on the webminars it should be OK

Please see the enclosed webminar PDF file for this matter
