Dear all,

I estimate the compressor start-up procedure simply, as follows;

1. Check permisive signal
2. Push start button
3. lube oil pump start
4. compressor main motor start
(compressor main motor is not VVVF.)

At this point, spill-back(or anti surge) control valve might be fully opened. If so, should the capacity of this control valve be same as compressor capacity? In my opinion, a compressor that does not apply a VVVF motor makes a flow by designed capacity always and during start-up also,therefore, spill-back(anti surge) control has to cover the compressor design capacity.

I would like to get your opinion for the capacity of spill-back(anti surge) control valve.

Dear Sir

The spill back control valve (usually in the downstream of the after cooler of the compressor) will be opened to make more gas back the compressor inlet
If the total flow rate into the compressor is less than minimum.

And, the bypass capacity and inlet gas capacity should be holding a constant.
In other words, the bypass capacity increase, the inlet gas capacity should be
Decreased.
