In my case the pumping in the storage tank increased from 640 m3/hr to 1350 m3/hr.During filling the tank noise observed in the breather valve. Is any need to increase the breather valve capacity?

deepakarraj,

It is supposed the tank is fixed roof type, then:

The matter seems to be so strange, you mean the same breather valve, already designed for 640 m3/hr filling rate, is being used for 1350 m3/hr as new filling rate? If so, would you expect you haven't any problem?

The breather valve should be evaluated for new conditions and with a such increase in filling rate its capacity should most probable be increased.

Dear Fallah,
The current size of breather valve is 12" (3nos).Is there any possibility to find the capacity of the valve.Since the data sheet is in damaged condition and unable to find the capacity.

deepkarraj,
What about the valve name plate? Also if the valve vendor is available you can ask them about the valve capacity with reporting the valve type and model.

I agree with Fallah and would add that you should at least measure the tank pressure. Also, a full analysis of the breathing should be performed by API 2000.
