We are executing a Project (Chemical Storage Terminal).

The product stored is Epoxy Resin. The storage tank capacity is 2000 cu.m (18.5m ht. & 12m dia). The tank is insulated with mineral wool (50 mm thickness). The tank inlet, outlet & recirculation pipelines are electrical heat traced and insulated (but the tank is not heat traced). The product maintenance temperature in tank is 60 deg.C. we assume that the product is received at 60 deg.c and just needs to be maintained.

Tank has a jet mixing nozzle (for recirculation). Flow rate is 90 cu.m/h. The pipe length from pump discharge to tank jet mixer is 85 m. The heat output from pipe heat tracer is 34.7 W/m.

If the tank temperature temp. drops by 2 deg.c (in a day), is it possible to regain the maintenance temp. of 60 deg.c by recirculation (jet mixer) and if yes how much time would it take? Please note that tank has no heat tracing.

Request you to kindly help me out in this regard.
