Im trying to determine how long it would take an iso tank loaded with 150 deg c caprolactam to cool to 69 deg c (its freezing point) in outside air. I assumed an average ambient temperature of 28 deg c for the temperature of the outside air. The tank will be stored with no internal heating. I already found and filled out the excel sheet for calculating heat transfer loss for a horizontal stored tank. I've attached this excel sheet. It came out to around 9 days which seems faster than I would imagine. If anyone could take a look at it and see if any mistakes were made I would be very appreciative. 9 days just seems way to fast for the caprolactam to cool down to me. I think the equations for measuring time are incorrect since they don't take into effect that the U values will decrease as the temperatures of the tank and surroundings become closer.

Thank you
