All,

when oil loading into cargo tank from 2nd stage seperator through a dip pipe in a FPSO, there is chance of gas blow by from 2nd stage seperator to cargo tank. the set pressure of 2nd stage seperator is 3.5barg and cargo tank is at 0.1barg. Gas blow byrate is 85000sm3/hr. Any way it is instantaneous flowrate, it will decrease with time.

I did some settle out calculation for this case, but settle out pressure is coming more than design pressure of cargo tank. So I need to depend on the liquid height in the tank and change is flow due to this hydrostatic head in the tank. I want to perform manual calculation rather than dynamic simulation. I am trying find some calculus formulas but I failed to find suitable one.

Please share with me if any ideas or formulas.

regards
srinivas
