When using one of the pipe classes of DEP for 300#, where the Pressure temperature limits for sizes DN 15-600 are matching with that of ASME B16.5. However sizes over DN 750 (30”) indicates a lower valve of Pressure for temperature upto 100 deg C. And the note indicates that “Design limits DN750 and larger limited by allowable stress of bolting”.
The design limits are given below.

Design limits

Temperature (°C)

0 50 75 100 125 150

Pressure (Bar ga)

DN 15- 600 50.5 50.1 48.3 46.6 45.8 45.1

DN 750-1200 46.6 46.6 46.6 46.6 45.8 45.1

Can anybody explain why there is a reduction in pressure for DN750-1200. And how they are calculated.

Thanks
