Dear all,
Please help me to find out the heat transfer calcuation to be recieved in KWth/hr from flue gas and steam water. Also I would like to get the exact conversion formula for the kwth/hr to Kw energy/hr. This calcuation mainly to use for the ORC system. A simple excel claucation sheet which will be much good. I have data from flue gas exhuast through chemny for example as hereunder:
  • Heat Source: Flue Gas
  • Heat Flow rate: 1500m3/min
  • Heat Temp: 600deg. C
  • Heat Flow Pressure -1-2kg/cm2

saltech,

Are you a student? Because this seems like some homework assignment given to you. If yes, then you should not be posting your query in the industrial professionals forum; it should be posted in the students forum.

We here would like to know what efforts you have put out to solve this problem? Or are you expecting somebody else to do your work and provide you a readymade answer? Aren't you doing an injustice to yourself? How do you expect to be a professional engineer if you want sombeody else to do your work without making an attempt to solve it yourself?

Why don't you prepare an Excel sheet yourself and post it here for review? There will be plenty of people who will be ready to provide corrections or suggestions to the solution generated by you. I can tell you that expecting your work to be done in the first place by somebody else is not going to generate much sympathy to your cause.

Come back with your own solution, post it, and I can assure you plenty of people will help in corrections and suggestions.

Regards,
Ankur.

saltech,

First of all, not many understand what "ORC" stands for and which you have failed to elaborate. Please be kind enough to put full names against acronyms for better understanding.

You say you have 2 suppliers who have come with different answers. Did you ask them to provide backup calculations for their answers?

Even if you are not from this field, based on the backup calculations the suppliers have provided you can do a comparative analysis for the input data they have used. You could also provide the backup calculations for review by the members of "Cheresources" for them to provide advice.

And if you are expecting calculations to be done by others since you are not from this field, you better be ready to pay professional fees to a design and engineering consultant rather than asking for free calculations. That would be the professional way to get advice to your technical problem.

Regards,
Ankur
