I have to design a thickener fot underflow Mg(OH)2 slurry in brine solution containing CaCl2 and water with small quantity of NaCl, KCl. Feed slurry to thickener is approx. 7000kg/hr, underflow is 2200kg/hr. which parameter and proprties of Mg(OH)2 needed also which formula will be useful to find size (i.e. area, depth and dia) of thickener. how the rake mechnism will design by what formul. please help.

please give, experimental or lab test data of cake resistance for magnesium hydroxide cake for filtration in a rotary drum filter
also give laboratory or experimental data for concentration vs. settling velocity of 40% Mg(OH)2 slurry in CaCl2 solution. as it is useful in rotary drum and thickener design as they are part of my assignment. thanking you

Some info there : http://www.pacontrol...on 93851_11.pdf

As part of your assignment you have probably to perform tests to get data !
