Dear all,
We have a pickle tank as described in the attached file and wish to estimate the emission rate or loss of nitric acid/NOx through a scrubber. My queries are:
1) I am using partial pressure data available from Perry’s book for estimation. However, I am bit confused as the title on the table says ‘partial pressure’ while the correct title should be ‘partial vapour pressure’.
2) Is my rough estimate for HNO3 emission rate for a scrubber with 0.8m dia correct?
3) Also HNO3 generate NOx and not sure how to estimate NOx emission rate. Any idea?

Any help would be highly appreciated.
Thanks
KS

Comments on the calculation file of post No 1 (per my understanding) are included in attached "HNO3tankemis.xlls", with a hope they can help.
Unfortunately I have not found data for NOx possible emissions from HNO3 tanks.
