Dear Sir
Greetings !
Sir ,
At our facility we have two screw compressor running together, feeding the same plant air header .
Each compressor is designed to discharge 1100 Nm3/ hr compressed air @10 barg
Total plant consumpton is 1800Nm3 / hr , to counter the gap b/w supply and consumption , One compessor is kept running always and the other kept in auto . The later one loads and unloads B/w 100 and 0 % load very frequently . which affacts parameter of Downstream equipments like air seperation unit.
So we have to open the Plant air header drain to reduce the frequency of loading and unloading of the compressor which in turn increase the power loss.
Can somebody suggest me some ways or modification or optional ways to reduce this drainage of Compressed air or to use it some how, some where.
\
regards,
Shin

Dear Breizh,
Thanks for your reaponse.
Sir i have talked with the vendor about the problem, they ruled out the possibility of installing a variable speed drive or a circulation valve . further they stopped responding . Now we are finding some innovative solution for 2 years . As after that plant air cinsumption is supposed to rise .
That's why i post this problem on the blog . to get something from other's experiances .

warm regards,

Shin,

When I answered to your post my thought was : why not using a VSD !

I guess you have one or multiples air storage after the discharge of the compressor with Pressure switches ( High , low ) to start /stop the compressors and at least to operate at minimum load .

I cannot help more.

Breizh
