I am concerned with heatloss of a stroage tank. After theoretical calculation, i would like to compare it to hysys result.(detail heatloss model)
but I can't get the result with hysys because "overall heat loss" indicates "0.0000Mcal/h" only..
"Detailed heatloss model" is applicable to dynamic simulation only?? I am confused..I am not good at using hysys..

Anyone who know the procedure for heatloss calculation with hysys?

While I have not tried simulating heat loss model on a tank in Hysys, I made a quick check on the program itself and you have to set up your simulation to run at dynamic mode (you can look up the Hysys manual for an overview of what dynamic simulation is).

Hi,
Why you want Hysys as a tool to calculate the tank heat loss, when you have plenty open resources for tank heat loss calculations. Here are some links,
http://www.pexuniver...ulate-heat-loss
http://rimstar.org/r...alculations.htm
http://www.engineeri...anks-d_285.html
I am enclosing an excel calculation sheet which I downloaded through Google search. Use it with caution as I did not validate the calculations.Attached File  Tank Heat Loss.xls   35.5KB   332 downloadsAttached File  Tank Heat Loss.xls   35.5KB   332 downloads
