Dear All,

Im student from Malaysia, I would like to ask for a help on designing A hydrolysis reactor and Hydrogenation Loop reactor. I tried to search any article about this two reactor, but not enough to solve my problem.

My final year project need hydrolyzer and hydrogenation reactor to produce stearic acid. I choose continuous Buss loop reactor for hydrogenation and simple emery process for hydrolysis. But the problem come when I need to do detail design of these two reactor.

1) Most of the loop reactor found in literature is for batch process, I dont know how to scale up to continous process. I also dont know what should i put in detail about this Buss loop reactor.

2) I dont know to design hydrolysis reactor. I try using simple plug low reactor, but the problem came when getting the volume since my inlet low rate is only 4001.89 kg/h. is it possible?

I hope that somebody can help me to give some explaination on designing these two reactor.
