hey!
i had a similar problem. I had to simulate a fixed bed reactor though adn i found out that its just not possible in hysys!!!
so basically i used a PFR and gave in the appropiate equations and, trust me, it worked very very well. so basically approximate your fluidised bed to a packed bed and enjoy!

Thanks for your help, but how do you enter your catalsyt characteristic such as bed porosity, catalsyt dimemsion and shape into the hysys simulation. We cant really account these by changing our rate equation which should be independent of the type of reactor, right?

hey!
u can change the porosity and put in reactor size also in in the pfr thing in hysys.
if u face problems, tell me... shall give u extra info. keep loitering aroudn the pfr module.. and look for specifincations etc etc..

Please I am working on a project 'Chlorine Recovery from Hydrogen Chloride'.
Please can I get a prototype file (Hysys or paper work) of this work because am completely not sound in plant design. The guidance i will get will be of immense importance.
