Hi All,

Need to design a small diameter pressure vessel for my research experiment. As per the requirement the vessel will be exposed to 0 - 50 bar pressure difference & 30-40 C degree temperature.

Selected vessel dimensions are as ,
Inside Diameter - 50 mm
Shell Height - 10 Cm

By considering the operating conditions, other calculated dimensions are
Shell thickness - 4 mm
Welded bottom plate thickness - 10 mm

This vessel need to be attached to 1'' diameter gas pipe line from top of the vessel & during the experiments the top cover need to be open/dismantle several times to insert & remove the samples which are inside the vessel. I'm hoping to design a threaded top cover same as the attached image (which is extracted from a research paper, my design is going to be exactly the same shape but the dimensions will be different) for the pressure vessel.

would like to know what type of books/standards (ASME /BS) or any other reference materials that i need to follow to design a threaded top cover plate for this pressure vessel.

Thanks all

Regards,
Bhagya
