Hi all,
GENERAL IDEA:
I'm designing a crude argon distillation column on HYSYS as a part of an Air separation unit. After I was done with both the short-cut column and then the rigorous column and found all the initial required values to design a column such as (min reflux ratio, min number of stages, tray space....etc ), I had to calculate the Diameter of the column so I'm working on the equation that depends on the maximum surface vapour velocity to be found first..
Question:
It needs the values of densities of both liquid and vapor in the boil-up stream so I can substitute them in the equation. I'm just confused which is which ? I went to the boil-up stream Properties (( As shown in the picture attached here )) and could not tell how to tell between the liquid and vapor densities..I have the mass density, average liquid density and std Ideal liquid density...
A help will be so much appreciated.
thanks in advance
Moe
