This is Abhishek, a process engineer employed in Mumbai. I wanted to know about good training programs on centrifugal pumps and compressors here in India.
I hold a BE mechanical. Though there are good courses by J M campbell etc, they are too costly and not in india...

Well,I have all the videos I can get from youtube. I have purchased around 10 books on pumps. But to a class room training is different. Thats why I asked. Many US companies conduct these kind of trainings. I was wondering if we have something like this in India or nearby ( Singapore). I am ready to pay ( reasonabe). Not about basics. About advanced level training.

So, what training do you have in mind? What content are you looking for?

well Bobby,
I am looking for;
1. Basics - function, operation, hydraulics, NPSH etc.
2. Mechanical Seals- pumps.
2. Best Practices.
if possible, a certification. I want to be a rotating equipments expert engineer. Time frame is 2 years. I will read every book I can find and attend every training I can afford. To virtually solve any problem with pumps, gas compressors and gas turbines.
regards.

ihba:
You stated you are after "advanced level training" and then you defined for Bobby Strain that you after
- Basics - function, operation, hydraulics, NPSH etc.
- Mechanical Seals- pumps.
- Best Practices
These are all basic knowledge, not advanced at all. Getting a "certification" (which only acknowledges that you studied the material) doesn't make you a credible "expert" on the material. In order to achieve what you are looking for you have to acquire field, hands-on, successful experience as well as the normal class room theory. The class room theory is the easiest to acquire. The proven, successful field experience is the hard part.

thats what i meant. as i am a process engineer, i dont get that much hands on experience as maintenance engineers. But I would like to do more hands on. That will be possible in some of the trainings. like john crane's mechanical seals training is 1/4 part hands on ..
