hi everyone

there is an atmospheric storage tank for storing caustic soda 45%. the material of this tank in basic design is carbon steel. now, we wanna change the material of it to FRP or GRP. has anyone seen this material for this kind of substance.

maximum temperature of this tank is 50 degree Celsius.

internal diameter: 2.2m

shell height: 4.5m.

Hi,

As far as i know the FRP tanks can be subject to chemical attack by caustic soda solution, then appears it is better to keep the tank material as per basic design.
