I am now running a vacuum distillation unit, where two barometric condensers in conjuction with 2 steam ejectors are running to create vacuum in the unit.

Now, I am considering to seek alternative vacuum technology. Are there any other vacuum technology that requires less cost than the above technology?

Required vacuum: 50~120 mmHg

Thanks for your help.

Steam ejectors have the lowest investment, but can have a high operating cost depending on whether or not you can recover the exit steam.  There are many vacuum technologies out there (liquid ring, oil sealed, dry running, etc.) but I'd really need to know more about the process before suggesting a type (flowrate, temperature, service, etc.).

In summary other types will have a lower operating cost, but a higher capital cost.
