This is to implement new energy saving idea-

To save steam in steam jet ejector can we install actuator valve on steam inlet line which is to be controlled (On/OFF) with ejector vacuum?

Since ejecors are operated manuaaly anywhere and lot of steam is lost unnecessarily evenif vacuum is not required (e.g. in batch distilaltion process initial vacuum requirement is high and requirement decreses towards end of distillation)

That is a very vauge question as none of us know any details about your plant, configuration, steam balance, vacuum requirement, steam flow rate to the ejectors or any such details.

It may or may not, depending on where you can transfer the savings in steam to. If you have a standby boiler which makes steam and which you can increase or decrease the load as per your requirement;  or you purchase it from outside, maybe that is beneficial. If you cannot transfer the savings onto anything, but instead ends up venting it somewhere else, there is no benefit.

So in short its a very subjective query which you yourself can only calculate. You will have to know the marginal price of your steam first. Then you can think of alternatives like on/off or vacuum pumps or a combination of both etc.

A control valve would be better than an on/off valve for control purposes. A minimum amount of steam is required for an ejector to have any effect.
