I have two carbon steel ball valves in a hot amine service that are leaking.  Both vavles were replace a year ago for the same reason.  Operating temperature is 250-300F.   Does anyone have any information regarding vavle internals that are better suited for this application?

Current Valve Specs:

10" - 150#

MOP - 285 psi @ -20F to 100F, 245 psi @ 250F

Model - 370D-4

Body - C/S

Stem - TY630/EPN

Ball CF8M

Seat SS/NYL6

Seals HNBR

Thanks,

Chris

Chris,

I feel leaking because of the seal but i found that HNBR is good for the Amine service.

It can with stand up to 300 °F upper side & -40 °F down side.

My apprehension is regarding velocity of the hot amine through this valve which is leading to the leakage problem.

Generally for Amine service the velocity should be kept below 1.5 m/sec.
