Hi,

 

I have handson experience in dynamic simulation in Hysys software, There are some unit operations like hydrocyclone or GasTurbine etc are not available in object pallete of Hysys.

 

I have been given the task to develop an Extension (dll) for these unit operations, but before going into details of unit operation, I would like to go through simple Extension exercise which can be written in visual basic software, I would like to know if anyone can give me idea about which VB software should I use for writing the code for Hysys (Operating system of machine is Windows7).

 

If anyone have simple extension example with code then please share with me, I can go through it and start to learn the coding and communication protocols from VB to Hysys..

They'll be more than happy to help you.

Moreover, from my (little) experience in dynamic simulation, I'd say that your task is either unuseful (hydrocyclone) or prohibitive (gas turbine).

Anyway, when you'll finish your tasks, we would be happy to see your products.

I will not try to judge urgency and usefulness of your work, but its true that Aspen Tech Support can help you better.

 

For developing Extensions for Hysys in VB, you can start with Aspen Hysys Customization guide which is available with standard Aspen Hysys Documentations.

Customization guide itself contains some common examples for how to define objects, how to use keywords etc etc.

Hope this will give you a good start.

Hi,

I have completed exercises given in Aspen Customization guide (Reactor Extension for Vinyl Acetate, Saturate etc), However I am strugling to write a code for dynamic Hysys mode. There are certain functions like "Postcompositionstep", "PostEnergeyStep", PostPFsolver" etc which I am not able to use effectively.

 

Can someone give idea or example of simple VB example with Dynamic Hysys mode?
