Dear All

I work on a flare project and I want to use molecular seal or liquid seal for a flare.
I want to find that whether it is possible to use molecular seal alone or not?
Are there any criteria for choosing between these two?

Would you happen to know any references other than API 521,537 that I can refer to?

Best Regards
Zahra Amiri

Consult with the flare manufacturer. They have more experience to draw on than anyone.

Water makes a good seal but it has some troublesome risks/problems (freezing, algae formation, loss due to evaporation, wastewater treatment required). A molecular seal obviously doesn't have those problems/risks.

The onshore plant I worked had both; For offshore we only provide mol seal.
