we are using the HP turbine to drive slurry pump and high pressure steam exhausting from turbine is low pressure steam and  put into  LP header . By design temperature is around 160 degrees but the temperature of the LPS come from Turbine is now about 280 to 300oC. how to improve the turbine to reduce LPS temperature to 160oC. What was wrong with turbine?

Nothing really wrong with the turbine.

Engineers often do not realise that this kind of relatively small turbines have a miserable efficiency, in the order of 15 - 30 %, depending on size (power).

As a consequence its outlet temperature is very high.

This sad fact is often overlooked when such turbine is added late in the process design phase, or when such turbine is added later in the plant.

I'm curious what's the flow rate / head developed by this pump?

   Rated flowrate:  769.4 m3/h

   Suction pressure: 1.7 Kg/cm2

   Discharge pressure: 12.1 Kg/cm2

   Differential head: 134 m

Perhaps some more info on the turbine might help to understand more. Perhaps design parameters, current parameters, some past history or some drawings etc
