Hi to everyone!!!

Many times it has been observed that people comment about improper combustion of Furnace Oil(FO) in combustion chambers. One of the primary reasons would be that air flow(primary) is not sufficient for the given feed rate of FO in combustion chamber.

The same needs to be calculated using the composition of the FO used and hence adjust the air flow rate. A lower air flow rate would cause improper combustion where as a higher rate will lead to loss of energy as flame temperature would decrease.

So here is calculation of Air required for combustion of FO in combustion chambers.

Hope you like it.

Respected Sir,

I am really glad that our seniors are so supportive and also guiding in nature. I didn't know that Mr. Ankur had already uploaded before. Just checked and his work is simply great.

I tried uploading to the file library but it says i dont have access to it and hence not allowed to upload any files.

I don't think anyone can post directly or upload files. This is usually achieved by using the "Contact Us" link and submitting the file to the site owner. This is how I have uploaded spreadsheets before now.

Hi..

Its the composition of furnace oil used in Combustion Chamber. Its grade is MV II (Indian Oil) and it is indeed a Heavy Fuel Oil which requires preheating before burning.

Shishir
