Dear All;

Please, there are two amine Pumps, one ( P-101A) is running and One  (P-101B) is in standby mode, and each pump has it's own lube oil cycle (Lube oil System is completely separated).

And functional specification from vendor shown that:

If the pump is in standby mode, the relative auxiliary lube oil system shall be always ready.

Now,

 for the logic of the pump, there is a pressure transmitter PT for  the oil cycle for each pump, this pressure transmitter trip the pump when the pressure of oil cycle become Law Law.

BUT, Shall I make this transmitter PT, trip both pumps, I mean If P-101A is running and P-101B is in standby , and   PT for P-101B (standby one not running) become low low, shall this transmitter trip the running pump P-101A ?

Note that: there is a FAL (flow transmitter) on discharge line of the pump , in case of law flow will trip the running pump and start the standby one automaticaly.

Thanks;

Shahin.

Shahin,

Uploading a sketch of the system will clarify the situation much better than a lengthy description...

Well Shahin as fallah pointed out a sketch will bring more clarity, so you have independant lube oil ckt. for both pumps, which is a common practice, now as per my understanding of the query, you should not trip the running pump based on lube oil PT alarm in stand by pump.
