dears

does it have any different to install pressure transmitter upstream or downstream of check valve in positive displacement pump?

Hi

1. Install as close as possible to the pump.

2. Valves, include check valve sometimes not working properly such as partially closed leads to higher pressure drop.. Therefore indicated pressure = Pump discharge pressure - pressure drop.

Dear Roshimessi,

 

I completely agree with Mr. S Ahmed. If pressure transmitter is installed downstream of check valve and if check valve get stuck due to any reason then pressure transmitter will not be able to sense high upstream pressure which can result in damage to pump and piping.
